Springs is a census-designated place roughly corresponding to the hamlet by the same name in the Town of East Hampton in Suffolk County, New York on the South Fork of Long Island. It hamlet has a total area of 9.2 square miles (24 km2), of which 8.5 square miles (22 km2) is land and 0.8 square miles (2.1 km2), or 8.19%, is water.
It is bordered by land in the west the Northwest Harbor and East Hampton North in the south. By water by Gardiners Bay in the north and Napeague Bay in the east respectively. Only accessible by ferry, 4.20 mi (6.75 km) across the northeast is Gardiners Island.
All four major roads to or from are only accessible through the south border which connects to East Hampton North and Amagansett namely:
Three Mile-Harbor Hog Creek Rd at the western part passes through marinas such as Three Mile Harbor Marina, Gardiner's Marina and Halsey's Marina; Springs Fireplace Rd that leads towards the center of the village passing Ashawagh Hall and the famous Pollock-Krasner House; Springs Fireplace Rd intersects with Old Stone Hwy right in front of Ashwagh Hall; heading further south it divides into three roads which the other major road Acabonac Rd is connected to.
