Sag Harbor lies between Southampton and East Hampton on eastern Long Island, in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It has a total area of 2.33 sq mi (6.02 km). It is bordered by North Haven in the north, Noyack in the west, Northwest Harbor in the east, and Wainscott in the south.
Just south of the village is the dividing line known as Town Line Road, also known as Division Street up north. Most historical landmarks in the village originated from the 19th-century including its Main Street, Old Whaler's Church, John Jermain Memorial Library, Whaling Museum, Custom House, the Old Burying Ground, Oakland Cemetery, Mashashimuet Park, and Otter Pond are in Southampton. At the foot of Main Street, at the marina complex at Bay Street and Sag Harbor Yacht Club, is the Breakwater Yacht Club; the rest of the complex is in East Hampton. The village also has a high school, Sag Harbor State Golf Course, and the historic freedmen's community of Eastville, first developed in the early 1800s.
Sag Harbor is accessible by bus and takes on the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike - Main St coming from the west and stops at Hampton Jitney Stop, Westbound bus terminal at 90 Main St.
