Setauket- East Setauket /səˈtɔːkɪt/ is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York, on the North Shore of Long Island. Brookhaven's northwest corner is home to Setauket. An area of 3.3 square miles (8.5 km2) comprises 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2) of land and 0.8 square miles (2.0 km2) of water.

On the North Shore of Long Island, Setauket includes two tidal inlets: Setauket Harbor and Conscience Bay, which are arms of Port Jefferson Harbor leading to Long Island Sound. The Setauket CDP is bordered to the north and west by the village of Old Field, to the southwest by Stony Brook, to the south by Stony Brook University, to the southeast by East Setauket, to the east by the village of Poquott, and to the northeast by Port Jefferson Harbor. 

N Country Road runs through the center of the hamlet and passes through the commerce area. Entering from west, it heads upwards towards north and bends towards east exiting to the boundary between Port Jefferson. North of the hamlet is the neighborhood of Strongs Neck that can be accessed by Dyke Road from W Broadway Road then north of Main Street. Attractions within the hamlet are Brewster House at 18 Runs Road, Sherwood Jayne House at 55 Old Post Rd, Gallery North at 90 N Country Rd, and Setauket Neighborhood House at 95 Main St. Three Village Historical Society likewise is located at 93 N Country Rd, across the United States Postal Service.

It is also home to plenty of parks and beaches such as Minasseroke Beach, East Setauket Pond Park, Setauket Greenway Trail, St Georges Country Club, St. Georges Golf and Country Club, Laurel Ridge Setauket Woods Nature Preserve, Olde Towne Garden of Setauket.
