Selden is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The hamlet has a total area of 4.3 square miles. Selden is bordered by Coram to the east, Farmingville to the south, Centereach to the west, and Terryville to the north.
The Middle Country Road or Route 25 and Nicolls Road or Route 27 interchange in Centereach towards east of Middle Country Road passes through Selden. Nicolls Road also partially passes through the southern area of Coram. From Route 25, Boyle Road covers the areas towards north and College Road to the south.
Taking College Road then E Road will lead to several colleges/schools including SUNY Empire State College Long Island Campus, Suffolk County Community College - Music Department, Kreiling Hall, Suffolk Community College, Riverhead Building, William J. Lindsay Life Sciences Building, Islip Arts Building and Suffolk County Community College Automotive Technology Building at N Road; up northwest are Selden Middle School and Newfield High School both in Ruland Road North.
