Port Jefferson Station is a hamlet in the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It has a total area of 2.6 square miles (6.7 km2).
The train tracks mark the northern boundary of Port Jefferson Station, separating it from the village of Port Jefferson. Route 347 (Nesconset Highway) on the south forms a boundary with Terryville. Setauket- East Setauket is at the western border and Mt Sinai in the east right where the Route 347 and Route 25A meets.
The center of Port Jefferson Station sits on the eastern part of the hamlet where Route 347 and Route 112 intersect. Route 112 or Patchogue Roadcovers the north-south direction. It meets with Route 25A or Hallock Ave at the Setauket Greenway Trail Head. Sheep Pasture Road mainly traverses the northern part of the hamlet.
The Setauket-Port Jefferson Station Greenway Trail stretches just over 3 miles along Port Jefferson Station starting from Setauket Greenway Trail Head and exits to Setauket Greenway Trail in 94 Setauket Greenway Trail, Setauket- East Setauket. Other attractions include: Port Jeff Bowl Inc at 31 Chereb Ln and Fun 4 All at 200 Wilson St. Sky Zone Trampoline Park is located in between the borders of Port Jefferson Station and Mt Sinai.
The Port Jefferson station is on the border of Port Jefferson Station and Port Jefferson proper. The area is also served by the Suffolk County Transit bus routes.
