Plainedge is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York, United States. The area was once known as Turkeyville. It has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.6 km2) with all of it being land.
Bethpage borders it to the north, Levittown to the east, North Massapequa to the south, South Farmingdale to the southeast and Farmingdale to the northeast. Main roads are Hempstead Turnpike (NY 24) which passes through the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway interchange, covering north-south at the eastern border of the hamlet is the Bethpage State Parkway. The northern tip of the Bethpage State Parkway meets and ends at Plainview Road where Bethpage State Park Bicycle Path is located. Boundary Avenue separates Plainedge and North Massapequa.
The Royal Palm at 2143 Boundary Avenue sits at the southeastern-most area of the hamlet. John H. West Elementary School is at the other end of Boundary Avenue. Plainedge Middle School is the only other school within the hamlet, adjacent to St. Joseph Hospital at 4295 Hempstead Turnpike. Heading south from Steward Avenue then Union Avenue gets to the Hospital Regional Office. Henley-Chaplin Park and Batter Up Batting Range are the only two outdoor parks/recreation places in the hamlet. New York State DMV - Bethpage also serves Plainedge.
