Mastic Beach is a census-designated place, and former village in the southeast part of the town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It had a total area of 5.3 square miles, of which 4.2 square miles was land and 1.1 square miles, or 20.34%, was water.
Long Island's Mastic Beach on the South Shore is located 70 miles (110 km) east of New York City and has easy access to New York City via the Long Island Rail Road. Bordering Mastic Beach on the west is the southern portion of William Floyd Parkway dividing it from Shirley; the rest of Shirley covers the rest of the northwest border and Old Mastic in the northeast, and facing the south and east is Narrow Bay.
A nearby attraction is Smith Point County Park, as well as the Fire Island National Seashore. William Floyd House, also known as Nicholl Floyd House and Old Mastic House, a historical place, is located at 245 Park Dr. covering a total of 611 acres of land. Lawrence Creek between Park Dr road and William Floyd House flows into Narrow Bay nearby The Lagoon area. Another creek exists in the west end called Sheepen Creek.
Mastic Beach has no interchange or freeway and only has Neighborhood Road, Mastic Beach Road, and Whittier Drive as their main roads linking the rest of Mastic Beach’s streets. About 1.9 km from the west border, Neighborhood Road turns towards the north called Whittier Drive which becomes Mastic Beach heading towards the rest of the end of the north border
