Center Moriches (/moʊˈrɪtʃɪz/ moh-RITCH-iz) is a hamlet in Suffolk County, New York, United States. Center Moriches is in the town of Brookhaven. The land area is about 5.2 sq mi (13.5 km2) while the water area is around 0.4 sq mi (1.1 km2) for the total area of 5.6 sq mi (14.6 km2).
Bordering Center Moriches to the west is Moriches, East Moriches to the east, Manorville to the north and Moriches Bay and the rest of Fire Island to the south.
Historical places in the town are Havens Homestead, Masury Estate Ballroom and Ketcham Inn. The town also has three schools: Clayton Huey Elementary School, Center Moriches Middle School, and Center Moriches High School. Several attractions include Kaler's Pond Audubon Center in Kaler’s Pond Park, Montauk Hwy, nearby the vicinity is Terrell River County Park, going west is Neville Park, and heading south through the Belleview Ave passes Teresa's Silhouette Spot for Art and leads to Webby's Beach: Town Of Brookhaven in 19 Laura Lee Dr.
The Montauk Highway from Moriches splits into two main roads as it enters Center Moriches: Moriches Bypass is the first one that crosses straight towards the east border entering East Moriches; the other one is Montauk Highway going a bit south from the intersection then turning east passing establishments such as Moriches Field Brewing Co., Druek's True Value, St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Lucharitos, Ketcham Inn and Terrell River County Park before it exits the east border of the town. Other places of worship are The Harbor Church, Church Kings Chapel, First Church of God In Christ and The Episcopal Church Of St John The Baptist all of which can be traversed from the intersection between Moriches Bypass and Railroad Ave.
