Farmingville is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Suffolk County town of Brookhaven, New York, United States. Several major transportation hubs are close to the area, including MacArthur Airport and the Ronkonkoma Long Island Rail Road station, although the Medford station is closer. It is also accessible from Exit 63 of the Long Island Expressway.
It borders Centereach, Selden, Coram, Gordon Heights, Medford, Holtsville, Holbrook and Lake Ronkonkoma. It has a total land area of 4.1 sq mi (10.7 km2). Long Island Expy, Patchogue-Mount Sinai Rd and Nicolls Rd interchange are the main roads that pass through the hamlet. Portion Road/Horseblock Road covers the west-east direction and passes through the central area or the primary commercial thoroughfare in the hamlet.
Farmingville is home to Brookhaven Town Hall, Brookhaven Amphitheater, and Bald Hill.
The Brookhaven Town Hall is on the east side of Bald Hill in the community. Sachem High School East is located in Farmingville. Bald Hill, one of the highest points on Long Island, is located on the Ronkonkoma Moraine, where the glacier which formed Long Island stopped its advance. At the top of Bald Hill is Vietnam Memorial Park, which includes an obelisk-shaped monument painted red, white, and blue. The Bald Hill Cultural Center features the outdoor Brookhaven Amphitheater and was previously the location of a ski area.
