Carle Place is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, New York, USA. It has a total area of 0.935 square miles (2.42 km2), all land and has an elevation of 108 feet (33 m).
The villages bordering Carle Place are Mineola in the west, Garden City in the south, and Westbury surrounds it from the east and north. Carle Place also borders the part of Uniondale formerly known as East Garden City, an unincorporated area of the Town of Hempstead.
From the Old Country Rd that sits right on the south border, Meadowbrook State Pkwy enters Carle Place and runs through the town straight towards north for a distance of 0.82021 miles (1.32 km) and exits in an interchange that splits into two. Two other main roads exist covering north-south directions namely Glen Cove Rd serving the west and Cherry Ln in the west. Westbury Ave in west-east direction intersects with two other main roads in the center namely Jamaica Blvd and Meadowbrook State Pkwy.
Carle Place has its own school district, which, though it includes small portions of the villages of Westbury and Mineola, is one of the smallest in New York state. It consists of three schools which adjoin each other on one large campus: Cherry Lane School, Rushmore Avenue School, and Carle Place Middle School/High School.
It has a train station that boards to Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma.
