At Village by the Bay around Amityville, New York, which was treated to ribbon-cutting and formal opening ceremonies last Thursday, nearly a third of the units have already been reserved, and move-in day is Dec. 1.

Mike Ryan, a leading principal at LandTek, which owns the property and serves as its founder, explained that this small village is the perfect little village and has great restaurants within walking distance. “It’s right next to the train tracks as well.”

In the complex itself, he says, as far as amenities go, “we went big on it.”

They offer several amenities including rooftop lounges, a spacious courtyard, fire pits outdoors, a dog run, a community and business center room with a fitness center, and a billiards room. The property consists of 115 apartments and studios, some with one, two, and three bedrooms. The website states that the prices of the units range from $1,965 up to $3,450 a month.

Among the other principals on hand that day were Mike Ryan’s brother, Ed Ryan, Joseph Ferrara, and Andrew Zuccaro, who was himself at the event. The project was overseen by the Huntington-based Park East Construction Corporation.

Zuccaro intends to get to know all those who have signed leases and expects that they will really get along with the residents who have already signed leases.

“The mix of people is amazing,” he said. “There’s a range of people ranging from empty nesters, to young couples, to people moving out of their house for the first time.” Additionally, numerous people who are moving out of the city are among the residents.

The majority of residents who can be expected at Village by the Bay are in their late twenties and 30s, according to Mike Ryan. “I don’t think they’re looking to buy a house right now, if not at all, at least not yet,” he said. "They enjoy their leisure time, which is why we strive to provide them with a community-like environment in their leisure time.”

“The team was exceptionally hard-working and professional. It has been quite the accomplishment.” Eric Alexender of Vision Long Island said, “It would be fair to say that this has been one of our most successful collaborations thus far.”

"When you see projects like this, you just think, wow, it's awesome. I'm in awe."

The highly regarded advocacy group also selected the Village by the Bay project as one of the recipients of their prestigious SmartGrowth Award. “I think it's completely deserved,” he said. "I wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Ryan brothers for believing in Amityville, who have invested in the Amityville development, which has helped make this project a reality." Mayor Dennis Siri said to the public in attendance.  “It ought to benefit the downtown.”
