There are many historic buildings in the village of Sea Cliff, but one stands out from all of them - the House at 332 Franklin Avenue is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture that was built around 1890. It has been listed on the National Register for Historic Places since 1988 and is a great representation of what life was like over 100 years ago.

The interior is decorated with Victorian furniture and has three floors which are connected by staircases that can be seen throughout the building. The House at 332 Franklin Avenue is more than just a beautiful historic structure; it also represents what life in Sea Cliff was like over 100 years ago when many wealthy people came to spend their summers here.

It was built in 1888 and is a large two-story clapboard and shingled house with a hipped roof in the Queen Anne style. It sits on a high basement that is accessed by wide granite steps and has brick chimneys at either end. With new zoning regulations in place, there are currently no shops operating here but this could change someday soon if someone takes advantage of the opportunity to open one up again.

The House at 332 Franklin Avenue is one of several old homes in Sea Cliff Village that are on the National Register of Historic Places. This means that it has been recognized as an important structure and cultural landmark for its place within the village, which was founded back in 1879 by Thomas Fitch III, who had arrived from Connecticut with his family to build summer cottages and year-round residences here. For over 100 years now this historic enclave has continued to be a great spot for people looking for peace and tranquility right outside New York City limits.

This historical gem can still be visited today - though not without first making a request through the town office since it's currently in private use.

The structure itself is made up of three stories with brownstone cladding and Georgian-style architecture that includes six bays along its Franklin Avenue facade. The front door opens into an elegant hall divided by a central staircase leading to the upper floors as well as other parts for bedrooms or living quarters if they were ever needed. There are also fireplaces not only in just one but two rooms - including the dining room at this particular house.

It's amazing how much thought went into what would be considered necessities all those years ago when 332 Franklin Ave was built.

The house is significant to Sea Cliff for a number of reasons, but it's mostly because this structure has been the center of many social gatherings and served as an important part on the village's history. It continues to stand today after all these years and remains on the National Register of Historic Places - hopefully, there are plenty more memories made here over time.

It's also worth noting that while you're out sightseeing around town, be sure not to miss Sea Cliff Park - just two blocks from here - which offers visitors beautiful views of Hempstead Bay with its marshlands as well as a well-preserved example of the region's distinctive maritime history.

For those who would like to visit another historic property with their party or family during your next getaway weekend, we recommend checking out the House at 332 Franklin Avenue.
