Having recently opened just over three weeks ago around Hempstead, Munchys deli was developed by Adelphi student Hassan Asif to satisfy the burger-loving health conscious eater.

Menu items of Munchys Deli include burgers with a sunnyside up egg, bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes, like the Big Buddha Cheese Burger. A buttery fresh bun, covered in American cheese, and mayo, with fries, or the UK Cheese sandwich topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, secret spicy sauce, and mayo. Also available is the Kimbel, which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, waffle fries, mozzarella sticks, and American cheese on a warm brioche bun with fries.

A healthy snack option is the build-your-own salad or smoothie with flavors such as the banana peanut butter smoothie or the Mother of Berries smoothie, which typically consists of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. Munchys Deli menu also includes bubble teas and a wide array of appetizers. We aim to attract healthy people as well as people who like burgers and sandwiches. Asif confirmed this information in an email to us.

They advertise under the slogan “You Crave. We Serve!” It was previously a deli at the location at 719 Fulton Avenue.

Although the Crave's main demographic is probably students from nearby colleges and universities such as Hofstra University, Adelphi University, Nassau Community College, and Molloy, Asif says that he sees a lot of locals and families coming in. While Asif is in his junior year at Adelphi University, where he focuses on management and marketing, this is his first experience operating a restaurant.

It is indeed the name of the establishment that emphasizes the importance of quick bites. Asif told us that he also benefits from the young people who love to go out to the bars after hours and want some late night food to eat. In the name, the students can get a sense of what to expect. Our extended hours and discounted prices appeal to students, no matter the time of day or the place of the week. We are open until 3:30am on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday serving people who work the night shifts. There is no place in the area that offers the same ambience as we do.

Particular attention was paid to the logo for Munchys Deli, which represents his menu with a bright color palette and a simple design. The logomark is simple and iconic in its appearance. In response to a question regarding the logo, Asif said, “If you look closely at the logo, it is an M with cheese."

Also, if you zoom in, you’ll see the cheese has multiple layers, making it a sandwich. For the most part, reviews has been all positive.
