Whatever your business size or whether you are a property manager with 10,000 square feet or more of carpeted office space, carpet cleaning will be an important part of your regular maintenance schedule. When people think about commercial carpet maintenance, they typically think of a janitorial service providing daily vacuuming or a hot water extraction service. Did you know, however, that there is a middle ground?

Carpets can also be cleaned using encapsulation cleaning. This method or its shortened form is called "encapping" or sometimes referred to as "encap." It is a kind of carpet cleaning technique. Though often misused, this method of cleaning carpets became popular since its introduction.

The concept is not new. It has been around since back in the late 1990's or early 2000's. A method such as this uses equipment similar to that used on a "shampoo" machine. Due to this, it has been conflated, dismissed, and equated with that approach. The encapsulation process, however, uses a new and innovative type of chemistry.

A crystallizing polymer is contained in the solution used in the cleaning process for the encapsulation. Formulas also include cleaning components like surfactants. As a result of these ingredients, the bonds that bind dirt, grease, and grime to carpet fibres are broken down.

Most of the time, an agitation machine is used to work the cleaning solution into the carpet. We use a variety of machines, including Cimex and ORBOT, as well as Windsor. Also, there are other machines that can be used.

During the agitation, the chemical bond between dirt and fibers is broken. The soil and sticky residue are further mixed with the cleaning solution. When the solution dries, it crystallizes, leaving the residue completely nonstick. Polymers provide encapsulation with its power. When it comes to removing encapsulated particles, vacuuming is necessary.

Encapsulation Carpet Cleaning Service

It is considered to be a very low moisture (VLM) method of cleaning carpets. Chemicals used in the carpet cleaning process do not leave any residue on the carpet. Which is suitable for the periodic maintenance of carpets in commercial and industrial facilities which cannot be out of service for more than eight hours.

Carpets of roughly 2,000 square feet can be cleaned using this method in just two hours. If a maintenance plan is followed, it can result in reductions in bacteria levels below detectable levels even six months after cleaning.

Well-formulated cleaning agents remove the stickiness in the carpet. In addition, they are chemically designed not to leave a residue behind. In most cases, the best encapsulation products have an excess of acrylic polymer in them. Further, it provides long-lasting stain protection from dirt that gets tracked onto the carpet. As well as common office spills and stains caused by coffee and food.

In addition, an encap solution with the correct formulations will crystallize. When routine vacuuming is performed, it will easily come off. Excellent encap products will also create a carpet that stays cleaner for much longer.

Our Commercial Encapsulation Carpet Cleaning Process
When you vacuum a carpet nightly after a business closes, dust and other particles get deep into the fibres, making them look dull or worn. This is where encapsulation comes in handy. Below are the steps we take to effectively clean your carpets.

Dry Soil Removal
At this point, we use a special brush attachment that we have placed within the encapsulation machine and we thoroughly clean it in order to remove about 80% of the soil from your carpet. Solution is not added before brush vacuuming is completed. This will make the rest of the work easy. This is for the purpose of removing dirt that has become deeply embedded in carpeting.

Soil Suspension
The next step is to add the solution to our scrubber pads and work it through the carpet at a moderate speed. While applying the solution, we only need to pass over the carpet once. Furthermore, we make sure we do not overwet the carpet, in order not to leave any liquid behind.

Extraction
After thoroughly cleaning the carpet, we extract any excess moisture to fully eliminate dirt and other particles. The last thing you want is to have a wet carpet that hasn't completely dried causing stains and smells.

Finishing & Drying
We finish off by applying a professional-grade deodorizer and then complete the final steps of our process. This includes air-punching in order to remove any additional moisture from your carpets. Using our drying machine, if necessary, we ensure that the carpet dries rapidly before we vacuum again for good measure.

Why Do We Recommend Encapsulation Carpet Cleaning for a Commercial Environment
There is no way to prevent dirt from entering an office or other commercial space. Each hour, an endless amount of people can walk through even the smallest commercial building. We are all aware that dirt is not good for our carpets or our health, regardless of how it ended up here.

Thus, we recommend that you use encapsulation cleaning for your carpets. It's used best when you have stains and other signs of dirt that are deeply etched into the fibres. This is a more effective method than using spot cleaners, as it encapsulates all deep-seated dirt;thereby removing them from your carpet permanently.

Using Ellis Carpet Cleaning's active cleaning solution, each fibre is left with a clear, protective coating that prevents future soil penetration and helps prevent future stains. Upon vacuuming, this coating will be removed. However, the carpet will continue to feel protected for a long time. Furthermore, this process is cheaper, more efficient, and faster than other ways to clean carpets that need to be deep cleaned.

Encapsulation is an eco-friendly and safe way to clean carpets, which can be used on any type of carpeting, be it a natural fiber like wool or synthetic fibers like polyester. We do not use any solvents during our cleaning process, so you will be able to walk around once we are done cleaning.

Benefits of Encapsulation Carpet Cleaning

For office managers and business owners, the encapsulation method provides a straightforward means of maintaining carpets over the long term. As mentioned before, encapsulation cleaning is also associated with many other benefits, which will be discussed in more detail below.

Fast Dry Time
The low-moisture encapsulation cleaning method we use here at Ellis Carpet Cleaning will dry the carpet within about 20 minutes of applying the product. This means that even if the cleaning must happen during business hours, there won't be a lot of downtime.

No Wicking or Resoiling
Aside from faster drying times, there will be no wicking or re-soiling because less water is present. Wicking happens after carpet stains are cleaned with cleaners and water. As the water evaporates, soils remain in the carpet fibres. The stain then reappears on the visible surface of the carpet as it moves up. In this case, encapsulation helps to solve the problem because it keeps the carpet fibres from getting over soaked and traps all the soil inside the polymers which can be vacuumed away.

Improved Carpet Appearance
A primary advantage of encapsulation cleaning is the improvement in carpet appearance and the extension of carpet life. Regularly eliminating embedded soils will reduce the accumulation of sticky residues, which will attract more dirt and make your carpet appear dirty.

While our machines use a brush to agitate and deposit encapsulation cleaning agents deep into the carpet, they will also lift and open their pile at the same time. As a result, large commercial spaces can enjoy the best-looking carpets with the lowest cost.

Once this step has been completed you will not need another clean for at least a few months. Your carpeting will not become dirt-trapped or dirty again as a result of the encap process. You'll get cleaner carpets as long as a cleaning team vacuums every night.

Good Encapsulation Carpet Cleaning Versus Bad
Encapsulation carpet cleaning is determined by the quality of the solution itself, and the difference between what can be achieved by a good solution compared to a bad one can be considerable.

Tests can be run on the product to determine whether it is good or not. Pour a few drops of the encap product into a glass and let it sit overnight.  A good product will form perfect crystals in the morning, while a bad product will stay in liquid form throughout the day.

Another tip. Once encapsulation work has been completed you can see if a good job has been completed by pouring a small amount of water on the carpet. When it beads up, this indicates that it didn't penetrate the carpet fibers.

With Ellis Carpet Cleaning, It’s All About the Results
Ellis Carpet Cleaning can undertake this process for you, or you can use a carpet cleaner machine to encapsulate your carpet on your own, depending on what you feel most comfortable doing. What’s the Bottom Line
We’ve cleaned thousands of carpets here at Ellis Carpet Cleaning. Some people think that encap cleaning only moves surface dirt around, and that it does not remove it. We have found that most dirt and grime is not encased within a capsule or crystal over time. A well-formulated encap cleaning solution, on the other hand, helps remove dirt from a carpet. The scrubber we use at Ellis Carpet Cleaning, along with our encapsulation process and a good pre-vacuum, is probably the best you can get.

It doesn't matter if you have an old or new carpet; we will get it looking as good as new. Our team takes the time to do the job correctly. You can be sure that we will leave your business in a better circumstance than when we arrived. With our process, we achieve exactly that.

We also offer hot water extraction carpet cleaning and bonnet carpet cleaning.
