Pearsall Park on Bayville Avenue, a residential area in Amityville, this public park is easy to drive right past if you don’t know what to look for. But once you find it and enter through some beautifully manicured gardens with benches perfect for reading or enjoying an afternoon snack from one of the many food trucks that come just a few times each week here's where we promise your day will be made even better by discovering all there is to offer within these picturesque grounds.
Pearsall Park was one of those sweet spots that’s easy to overlook. But once you find it, you’ll want to keep coming back! It all started with the beautiful flowers and trees that were hand-picked by a very meticulous man named Mr. Neff. He would make his rounds every morning from the local nursery, picking out specific types of plants and trees for each section of the park.
The Eastern side had roses, lilacs, daffodils, etc., while he planted purple pansies on the Western side to help with humidity issues. And while this is where most people noticed him because they loved seeing how much care he put into everything he did – adding benches along some paths so people could sit around while at the park.
The park is not large, less than a square mile. But the trees that tower over it make it feel like an escape from life's hardships and worries. It has formal gardens with manicured flowers, but also winding woodland paths where nature takes its course - as if you are wandering through grounds of some ancient manor house left to grow wild in peace without interference or interruption by humans for centuries until now.
And just when you think your walk will never end at this tiny oasis amidst old-growth forestation...the path opens up towards a most charming wood gazebo; perfect for taking pictures of those special moments we cherish forever.
The park is small, but it's the most perfect photo spot you'll ever find on Long Island. It can be found in bright sunlight or even during rainy days and will always meet your needs for that secret garden to explore with someone special by your side.
This park has been around for over 100 years and is currently undergoing renovations to make it more beautiful than ever before. The park offers plenty of amenities such as benches, playgrounds, fitness stations, picnic tables, and many others that provide an enjoyable experience for all who visit.
The park is close to the Amityville Historical Society, which offers a variety of historical information on the town and its history. There are many events that take place at Pearsall Park throughout the year including an annual Easter egg hunt for children as well as holiday celebrations such as Christmas in December. The community looks forward to these festive occasions and they are a wonderful way for families to spend time together.
Pearsall Park is a wonderful place to visit and offers many amenities for the community as well as visitors from other towns. It's also an excellent location for hosting events, so it should be on your list of places to check out if you're in Amityville or nearby!
